A Case of Gunshot Wound of the Knee-Joint

was admitted into the XI B. I., Depot Hospital, Bareilly, on the 29th of March 1892, suffering from a perforating gunshot wound of the left knee-joint. The history of the case is as follows:?The XI B. I. were 111 camp at Ganesh Ghat near Rampur, and this sepoy was sitting outside the o-uard tent talking to some of his comrades and waiting for his turn to go 011 guard. A sepoy outside the tent fired his rifle (Martini-Henri) at the havildar, who was sitting inside, and the bullet passed through the havildar's chest,through the fly of the tent, through the chest of another sepoy, and finally passed through the left kneejoint of sepoy Shunkur Dichit, falling on the ground just after leaving the wound of exit. The first two men who were hit were killed on the spot; the man who fired the shot afterwards shot himself. The wounds having been dressed antiseptically, and tlio leg put up in a wire field
